Forehead and Brow Lifting

The forehead, eyelids and lower parts of the face are the first to lose tone due to aging. This relaxation leads to sagging of the eyebrows which contributes to a sad and tired face and creates excess skin on the upper eyelids.

Indications:Lifting primarily the outer half of the eyebrows, correction of vertical wrinkles between the eyebrows as well as long horizontal wrinkles on the forehead. Tightening and lifting of excess sagging forehead skin.

Anesthesia:The operation, depending on the operative technique, lasts 2-3 hours and is performed under local anesthesia with intravenous analgosedation.

Operative technique: An incision is made in the hairy part of the head between the upper poles of the earlobes, the skin of the forehead is freed up to the eyebrows, and its excess is removed with prior neutralization of the muscles that make the forehead crease. Brow lifting and forehead tightening can be performed endoscopically through minimal openings of two centimeters. This can be a stand-alone procedure or performed in conjunction with lax facial skin tightening surgery. Eyebrow lifting can also be performed with a simple operative technique through three individual smaller openings in the hairy part of the head, and the procedure takes much less time, about 1 hour.

Postoperative course: Hair washing and return to normal activities after 2-3 days, while the threads are removed between the 10th and 15th day.

Rare complications:Slight swelling and rare bruising on the forehead.
