Breast Reduction

Breast reduction
(Reduction mammoplasty).

Goal: Breast reduction in patients suffering from too large and heavy breasts. The straps of their bras are constantly tightened and even cut furrows on the shoulders, and problems with the neck part of the spinal vertebrae show permanent consequences already in girlhood, and the performance of this intervention is advised primarily for medical reasons as a prevention of permanent disability due to disturbed statics of the spinal column.

Operative technique: The same operative techniques used for breast lift are used for breast reduction. In certain cases, breast liposuction is performed as an introductory part of the operation.

Duration of the procedure and anesthesia: The procedure lasts 2-3.5 hours and is performed under general anesthesia.

Recovery:Return to normal activities after 5-7 days. The sutures are removed after two weeks. Mandatory wearing of a bra in the immediate postoperative period.

Rare complications:Transient nipple sensitivity disorder, appearance of smaller cysts in the glandular parenchyma. There is no guarantee that the function of breastfeeding will remain preserved.
