Botulinum Toxin Injections
Botulinum toxin injections are produced under different names (BOTOX, DYSPORT, MYOBLOC). It is a kind of biological toxin transformed into therapeutic agent. Botox has been used in neurological therapies since the 60’s. Presently it is widely used in plastic surgery to correct and prevent wrinkles by blocking contraction of facial muscles that are related to expression lines.
Indications: Perceptible dynamic lines on forehead, between brows, around eyes and light asymmetries of the face.
Duration: Procedure lasts about 15 minutes, without hospitalization, it isn’t physically demanding, and you can resume all activities in four hours. Micro-needles are used to inject botox directly into muscles related to dynamic lines.
Effects: The results are visible in 3-4 days, last for 3-6 months. Redoing of the treatment prolong effects for a year.
